Second Grade Research

Classroom Design:  Arrange seating with students paired in groups of two or three.
Student seating will be arranged around the perimeter of the room in the shape of a U.  They will be facing each other in groups of two or three.  The whiteboard will be placed at the open end of the U.  A mimio and document camera is placed in the center of the U up against the wall. 
Four student computers are to be placed in the corner of the room next to the whiteboard. 

Level of Partnering: Basic 
                                Complete KWL chart on the topic of student choice
                                Develop questions

Integration of technology: Student directed virtual tour.
                                 Student developed post assess (mimio).
                                 Teacher layout for student/s
                                 Web search (identify one website with info.) 
                                                                                                     
Student group project.
                  Presentation: verbal, poster, video

Three guiding Questions:
        How will you find the information that you need to understand the subject?
How can you create questions for assessment of others related to the subject that will show their knowledge beyond basic?
        How will you present the information that you have learned about the subject?
